Sarah Goldman, a Jewish girl, has fallen in love with a non-Jewish man. Fearing the repercussions from her parents, she tells them that she and her boyfriend have broken up, but continues to date him in secret. She invents a new boyfriend to allay their suspicions, but when they demand to meet him, she is forced to hire a Jewish man to play the role. She soon discovers, however, that her escort is not Jewish either, and a madcap farce ensues as the actor, Bob, attempts to win over both Sarah and her parents.
