Beats 101 introduces modern drumming techniques and beat production. Participants will get an introduction to the origins of hip hop, will experience playing with pre-produced backing tracks, and explore the basics of music production and sampling.

Participants should have basic drumming and computer skills such as word processing, email and web surfing as well as a basic understanding of basic music terminology and the concept of “time,” but do not have to be drummers. Please bring your own sticks, all other equipment is provided.
