Album release party for BEAT PHARMACY with Shigeru Tanabu live on guitar direct from Japan! With Francois K.
Beat Pharmacy's 2nd album "Constant Pressure" on Deep Space Media/Wave Music features Paul St Hilaire, Mutabaruka, Mikey Dread, Ursula Rucker and Shigeru Tanabu's distinctive guitar playing and further explores a genre-defying blend of beats, dub, jazz and psychedelia.
For those of you who know Brendon Moeller's dj work as Beat Pharmacy this is a rare opportunity to see him perform live with the lush guitar-art of Shigeru Tanabu. Their performance is a true electronic dub experience and embodies all that makes our collective vision of Deep Space so exception.
After his debut album Earthly Delights on Deep Space Media, Beat Pharmacy aka Brendon Moeller, whose previous releases can be found on Astralwerks, Six Degrees, King Street & Codek, continues to explore with more finesse and precision the electro-organic sound that inspire the Beat Pharmacy vision. His unmistakable trademark is the dub aesthetic he applies to his production. This new album, Constant Pressure, is an audio collage that digs deep into the crates of Brendon?s mind, fusing elements of dub, jazz, reggae, house and then some. It also features a solid cast:
- Wata (Water) featuring reggae legend MUTABARUKA chugs along with a hypnotic groove and a powerful vocal.
- MIKEY DREAD?s toasting turns Club Dread into a feelgood floor filler that's definitely got the funk.
- PAUL ST. HILAIRE proves once again that he is one of the most outstanding reggae lyricists and vocalists living today as he brings us the infectious Hot Spot Splash.
- URSULA RUCKER?s intimate and poignant Pieces is delivered over a slice of dubbed-out jazzy house bliss.
- Tangerine and Drifter possess grooves that are destined to bring some heat to the dance floors while Floating and Caramel build into hypnotic other worldly gems.
Please join us for this very special celebration. You can also purchase Constant Pressure at the party on Monday for a special price.
