Bead Expo will be making its appearance in Portland at the Oregon Convention Center from March 27-30, 2008. Bead Expo brings together the art of beaded jewelry and bead enthusiasts from all over the country under one roof. The festivities will last four days and offer hands on jewelry-making workshops. There will also be opportunities to purchase beautiful hand made creations along with supplies to make creative beaded jewelry.
Be sure to come and take advantage of the Preview Night held on Thursday, March 27, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Open to the general public, this is an opportunity for avid beaders to get a first hand glance at everything each vendor has to offer. Don’t miss the chance to come and start shopping early.
Also on Thursday, March 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., beaders are invited to an exclusive Meet the Instructors Event, where they can meet world-famous instructors, browse workshops still open for registration, and sign up to take a class.
After a day of shopping and workshops on Friday, March 28, the general public is also invited for a night of fun festivities during the Bead Expo “PJ Bead Party”, held from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Make sure to bring a current project and join everyone for a fun night of beading and mingling.
Bead Expo will feature more than 150 booths and over 80 classes taught by bead and jewelry experts from around the country. Participants can register in advance or on-site for hands-on workshops at all experience levels. There will be a variety of techniques taught, some of which include, bead stitching, chain maille, polymer clay, metal clay, metal smithing, wire and metal, wire knitting, crochet, wire weaving, and wire wrap.
