Be creative in March—join Westfield Wheaton and the Westfield Family Program for Family Fun Days featuring “Arts and Culture.” Kids will learn about famous artists and their mistakes—making art more accessible.
On March 9, join us for story time starting with The Magical Garden of Monet by Laurence Anholt, a book about a chance meeting with Monet. Beautiful Oops by Barney Saltzberg follows suit, teaching children that it’s okay to make a mistake, especially where art is concerned. Kids will then tap into their own creativity and create a beautiful tissue-paper flower and enjoy a snack.
March 23 will feature stories about Pop Art, starting with Pop Warhol’s Top by Julie Appel, which brings pop art creations to life. The second book, One by Kathryn Otoshi, teaches children about colors, numbers, and acceptance. Kids will then enjoy a snack and put their pop art know-how to work by creating pop art top hats to take home.
