Make sure that you are planning to attend the Friday, April 8th portion of the Tri-State BBQ festival. There are a few details in the works, but here are some of the highlights of the event….
The BBQ Bash will be from 6-10 pm at the Houston County Farm Center
There will be food and drinks (including adult beverages) available.
The classic rock band, The BopCats, will be the featured entertainment. They recently were the back up band for the sold-out MusicFest event the City had at the CIvic Center.
The ticket sales will 100% go to the local Wiregrass 2-1-1 agency (they help people in need locate resources, such as medical and medicine assistance, food, shelter and other urgent needs.)
It will be a yard party atmosphere—- bring your chairs if you want to hang out on the lawn!!
There will also be rides and games available for the kids (additional cost for most rides and games.) and a few free inflatables for them to play on.
Also, the many different BBQ teams will be on site, and you can go visit with them as well as check out their cooking set up for the competition. There will aslo be many vendor there, selling sauces, spices, rubs, grills and also household items, including candles, jewelry and more. Many of the spice and sauce vendors are offering free samples of their product, so you can try it before you buy it!
Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door. All money raised from ticket sales will benefit the Wiregrass 2-1-1 agency. As of this time, there are several sponsorships needed to cover the cost of the band, soundman and stage. If you are interested in helping the Wiregrass 2-1-1 and the Tri-State BBQ Festival, please call Kerry at (334) 699-1475.
