City Offers Battery Recycling Location for Citizens
Frederick, MD - In an effort to reduce our environmental footprint and ensure batteries are properly disposed; the City of Frederick will now collect disused batteries inside the front door of City Hall, located at 101 North Court Street. Citizens are encouraged to bring their old batteries to City Hall and look for the green bin!
"We are committed to expanding recycling opportunities for all of our residents. By offering the battery bin for our citizens, we hope to make recycling more convenient for everyone. If you are visiting a public official or paying your water bill, please remember to bring your old batteries and drop them off at City Hall." said Mayor Randy McClement.
The following batteries are allowed for recycling and can be brought to City Hall:
• Alkaline batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, etc)
• Silver oxide batteries (from watches & devices - small metal disc)
• Rechargeable batteries (in a charger or by plugging the device into the wall socket)
