"Shaun & Suzi's Thirteenth Annual Bastille Day A-Go-Go" will be Saturday, July 15, 2006. The show, a revue, features Shaun Wolf Wortis & Suzi Lee (ex-Slide), fronting a large "all-star" band playing old New Orleans Rhythm and Blues (plus some older styles), with special guest vocalists Ad Frank (singing a set of Jacques Brel), Monique Ortiz (of Bourbon Princess, & upcoming solo record!), British rock legend Mick Mondo (who recently escaped from Canadian Mounties, and is ready to rock!), Anna Price (powerhouse singer of up-and-coming band Silver Lining), and Adam Glasseye (Reverend Glasseye) who joins us for some Serge Gainsbourg material, joined (for the Brigitte Bardot parts) by Holly Brewer, who wowed the audience this past Mardi Gras at T.T.'s. PLUS: Boston Babydolls with a few French numbers; and Manège à Trois.
What does New Orleans R&B have to do with Bastille Day? Well, ok, not really much, but with a good amount of irreverence, humor, and a very faithful, amped-up crowd, the Annual Bastille Day A-Go-Go is one of the summer's most anticipated regular events.
