Join Baskervill for our 1st Annual Reclaim It! Recycled Art Competition. As part of our 2nd Annual Every Day is Earth Day @Baskervill campaign, this art competition celebrates Earth Month by reclaiming materials and transforming them into functional works of art.

This competition will be juried, and one winner will be selected. The winning artist receives a prize, media coverage, and their winning art entry will be on display in Baskervill's offices for one year.

Who can enter?
Anyone! Students under 18 years of age must obtain their parent's permission.

Size Limitations?
When completely assembled, the artwork must be no larger than 5' x 5'.

Materials Limitations?
The completed artwork must be 100% comprised of found/recycled objects, with the exception of adhesives and brackets. The artwork must not include any hazardous materials, liquids, batteries, or motor-powered components. The artwork must weigh no more than 100 pounds and be able to be transported on a push cart without needing to be disassembled and reassembled. The artwork cannot require power.

Theme (open for your personal interpretation)?
Living Buildings (when buildings generate more energy than they consume)

Other Rules:
All artwork must be on-site at Canal Crossing and installed on April 28, 2011 between the hours of 8:00 - NOON. You must attend the juried art wine and cheese event between 4:00 - 6:00 PM in order to answer questions about your piece. You are responsible for the presentation of your artwork. If you desire a pedestal, drapes, small signage, etc., you must provide it. The artwork will be previewed by the judges between the hours of 3:00 - 5:00 PM, allowing one hour of private viewing and one hour of viewing with the artists and audience present.

If your artwork is not the winning piece, you must remove the piece from the judging location no later than 7:00 PM on the evening of the judging event.
