Basic Sewing 101 With Belle Mell February 3, 2011

This demonstrational class is for anyone who has never sewn before, or who has a sewing machine that they have no idea how to use. You will learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine as well as the functions of various stitches. You will learn an easy, novel way to insert regular zippers as well as the correct way to apply invisible zippers. A variety of methods for doing hems will be demonstrated, from no-sew techniques using iron on tape, to hand sewing and ultimately machined hems on today's woven and knit fabrics. This is a great class for those who have been afraid to try basic repairs or want to learn the basics of machine sewing.
