By William Gibson; Directed by Susan Russell Written by his church by the playwright best known for the Miracle Worker, this high spirited, yet spiritual play offers up an upbeat retelling of the Nativity story. A bumbling young Angel is sent by a taciturn God to manifest his divine plan for an aging, jealous Joseph and a resolutely virginal Mary. The nervous Angel worries his way from Annunciation to Bethlehem to Birth. Gibson's script is at times hilarious, at other times thoughtful and suggests that a loving act is our redeemer when God seems silent.
