BARKtoberfest for the Ankeny Dog Park October 11, 2008

It’s the biggest dog party yet! Join the Ankeny Dog Park committee Saturday, October 11, at Chips Restaurant in Ankeny, from 2 PM to 6 PM for “Barktoberfest!” This outdoor event includes contests, prizes, agility demonstrations, microchipping (from 3 PM to 5PM), plus food and beverages for human and canine consumption. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon with your family and four-legged friends.

In addition to being a social event for dogs and their owners, Barktoberfest also helps raise support for an off-leash dog park in Ankeny.

In January, the Ankeny City Council approved the formation of an Ankeny Dog Park task force to collaborate with the City’s Park Board in developing a local, off-leash Dog Park. Potential locations are being explored.
