Bare Naked Spirits
Tango Life
At the Mercury Café
Bare Naked Spirits Tango Life present a uniquely interactive experience at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 13 at the Mercury Café, 2199 California St., Denver, that includes music, storytelling, poetry and audience participation games. Admission is $10, children are free.
In Tango Life BNS members Pamela Weng, Dr. Bob Boyle and Dee Galloway combine their passions to bring a message of love, hope, joy and serious play. The trio came together quite accidentally – Bob met Dee while visiting a paper store in Cherry Creek North; Pamela met Bob when she found herself lost in the woods near her home in Conifer; Pamela and Dee were introduced at a salon-like gathering hosted by Bob in Evergreen – and the co-creative energy was too great to resist. They often incorporate stories of the serendipitous circumstances of their meeting as part of their shows.
Pamela Weng holds a Masters in Humanities from the University of Colorado at Denver, where she teaches piano, ear training, music theory, music history and literature, and the history of rock and roll. Pamela has produced two CDs of original compositions, EarthTones and EarthTones II.
Dr. Bob Boyle poet, raconteur (storyteller) and retired trauma psychologist lives in a cabin on a creek in the Rocky Mountains. His life is a study of the Art of Intrepid Serendipity and the Craft of Taking Reality by Surprise and has self-published several collections of original poetry.
Dee Galloway is an ever-grateful itinerant performing poet who divides her time between the Rocky Mountain forests and University of Denver. She finds herself in great demand for readings and workshops throughout the Denver area.
Together the three have produced two CDs of original music and poetry, Spirit Rising and Solace: A Journey on the Path of Grief. More info at www.barenakedspirits.com
