BOSTON — Feeling blue? Well, here’s a cure: Banned in Boston! It’s gonna be a big, bright, wicked funny night at Banned in Boston, when Boston’s political, artistic, civil and corporate leaders act up and sing out all to benefit the nationally acclaimed Urban Improv, a violence prevention program for Boston youth. The 2009 line-up for the one-night-only musical comedy revue includes local celebrities, media personalities, politicians, and business and community leaders who will rally together to put on an impromptu show of hilarity, musical satire, and impromptu skits.

Legendary for their antics, the 2009 Banned in Boston cast will include favorites like Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton, Governor and Mrs. Deval Patrick, Attorney General Martha Coakley, Mayor Tom Menino, WGBH Greater Boston host Emily Rooney, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care’s Charlie Baker, Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation President Jarrett Barrios, Pulitzer Prize Winning Author Doris Kearns Goodwin, Red Sox Foundation Exec. Meg Vaillancourt, car dealership guru Ernie Boch, Jr., President of Boston City Council Mike Ross, Broadway star Nancy Anderson and many more! Urban Improv uses interactive, improvisational theater to help youth in Boston and beyond confront the violence, racism, bullying, fear, and drugs that can be a part of today’s reality.

Banned in Boston will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at the new House of Blues on Lansdowne Street in Boston. Tickets are $200 each, or $100 for those under the age of 40.
