Bang a Beat, Baby! Percussive Play for Kids October 3, 2009

Bring a drum, a pot, a pan, some spoons, a stick, boots, tap shoes, symbols or simply bring your hands and feet! In this high-energy music and dance class, kids create rhythms with anything they can, following the lead of renowned West African drummer Abubakari Kassum and his wife international dancer and Erie native, Diandra Jones. Using their bodies and instruments (real or make-shift), kids bang beats collectively and complementarily to creat one communal kids rhythm machine. Ages 3 and up are invited, accompanied by parents/guardians. Suggested fee is $3/child, $5/family or pay what you can.
