Do you want to know how to develop your own B&W film instead of taking it into the photo lab? In this tutorial, you will learn the first step towards creating silver gelatin prints with your own hands: processing your negatives.

Students gain a solid understanding of the equipment and chemistry involved as well as necessary techniques. Students will learn to how to safely handle film, load it into development tanks, prepare chemistry, process film, and store negatives in an archival manner. Emphasis is placed on understanding the chemical changes in the film as well as good darkroom practices to ensure consistency and optimal image quality.
