KELLI RUDICK returns to the stage in NYC for the BAM "Sounds Like Brooklyn" Music Festival on February 4th at the new Knitting Factory. The Brooklyn based Electro / Indie / Neo-Classical artist’s performances combine the slapped, bent, restrung and strangely tuned compositions of her first release "No One Knows You're Foreign" with polyrhythmic structures merging looped string progressions, beats and heavy bass lines from her forthcoming 2nd record. Kelli has recently returned from an appearance at the Mother Music Festival in Tel Aviv followed by her 3rd US National tour. She’s collaborated with Nick Zammuto of The Books, Alon Leventon of Drops of Consciousness, and acclaimed guitarist Kaki King. Back in Brooklyn for the Winter Kelli continues recording for the new record, accelerating the intricate terrain of her first release with an atmospheric depth of electronics punctuating her distinctive chordal compositions. BRENT ARNOLD uses a cello, his voice, and a battery of effects pedals to create songs of unhinged beauty and searing intensity with an unorthodox and virtuosic approach to the instrument. His music ranges from minimal to massive, often within a single song, incorporating intricate fingerpicking, loops and distortion, mazes of electronic tones, and a surprising melodic sense. He has worked with Modest Mouse, Sleater-Kinney, DJ/Rupture, Eyvind Kang, Karl Blau, Lenny Kravitz, and many more. His teachers include Walter Gray of the Kronos Quartet and legendary jazz violinist Michael White. For more information please visit: www.audiofriction.com
EMILY HOPE PRICE performs on cello, xylophone and accordion writing big songs about small loves. With a background in many different genres of music from early 1920s ballads to Michael Jackson to composers like Part, Riech, Cage, and Crumb, Emily composes music about tragedies and sounds, heavy souls and thick colors. she also writes lonely cello songs that involve experimentations in acoustic distortion, multi-tracking, looping, sampling, and improvisation. Emily has performed and recorded for musicians and studios all over the US and abroad. For more information please visit: www.emilyhopeprice.com
