Baltimore Avenue at 43rd Street
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104

Meet mothers from the West Philadelphia and University City area who frequent or live near Baltimore Ave. With the avenues rich diversity and welcoming atmosphere, I find it fitting to create a mommy meet up here. I envision this group tailoring to moms who want to utilize Clark Park as an outside meeting place and a safe place for our children to socialize.

This meet up is particularly for mothers of children 2 years of age and under. Unlike traditional mommy meetups, two pillars of our group are the environment and sustainability. There are a number of resources that can show us how to plant trees, minimize our energy consumption, and buy non toxic toys. Our sustainability plan will include recycling and reusing baby clothes, toys, and furniture. I hope that we can use a vacant lot along Baltimore Avenue to create an urban garden, utilize our neighborhood farmer’s market to buy local produce, and use public transportation or leg power to cut down on our energy use.

But we will never forget the main function of our organization which is to provide information for recent moms on caring for their children.

Our meetings are every other Saturday at Clark Park in Dickens Square until September. We hope to see you there!
