Hailed as one of Europe’s most innovative and stimulating choreographers, Angelin Preljocaj brings his company back to The Joyce in a program that explores themes both abstract and narrative. Noces, to the music of Stravinsky, re-imagines the wedding ritual as a consensual battle between the sexes. In Empty Moves (Part 1), a quartet set to a sound performance by John Cage from 1977, Preljocaj celebrates the pure beauty of movement, free from narrative.
