Ballet of Zal and Rudabeh October 4, 2009

The premier of full length contemporary ballet theatre of “ ZAL & RUDABEH”, conceived and directed by multiple award winning choreographer Anna Djanbazian, divulges a timeless tale of forbidden romance, war, triumph & transcendental power of love, based on an Epic story by the 10th century Persian poet, Ferdowsi’s “ Shah-nameh” - the Book of Kings. The ballet of “ZAL & RUDABEH” inspired by the skills of vibrant Persian story telling, NAQQALI, showcases this historical fable, weaved with live percussion, singing & poetry recitation, in both Persian and English languages.
