Backyard Insects and Integrated Pest Management January 20, 2010

Join Dow Gardens' Entomologist, Elly Maxwell for an in depth look at backyard insects common to the mid-Michigan area. We will discuss identification, life cycles, biology and ecology of some of the most common and significant garden "bugs." Elly will talk about the natural balance of these species and focus on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and natural control of these insects. Biological control, alternative/low impact insecticides, cultural control and other IPM tactics will be discussed in detail.
