Atlanta - Outdoor Club South
Overnight backpacking Sat. Nov. 13 return Sun night Nov 14 Cricket and I are hoping to finish the AT in GA this fall we're going back out to explore another section and would love for some company. NO BEGINNERS PLEASE Experience Backpackers only Hike at your own pace I won't insist we stick together we all have slightly differend paces. Just so long as we touch base from time to time and make sure we're all doing OK and camp together. I won't know what pace I'll be in the mood for until we hit the trail. This Section is 16.1 miles with some of the longes climbs and highest peaks in GA Rate: Very Strenuous!! Elevation: Will not go much below 3500 There are two shelters and several camp sites on this section, we can choose where we'll stay on the trail. Somewhere at the halfway point. Would prefe to set up a Shuttle (park a car at each end): But If no one else wants to drive, we'll do half this section then double back. What to Bring: the usual Backpacking gear, Dress in layers, Enough food for one dinner, two lunches, one Breakfast, snacks, a least two litters water and a way to purify more for next day out cooking with etc. I see several water sources on the map. Carpool 7AM Cracker Barrel, Winward pkwy exit 11 off 400 Carpool needs EARLY so we can set up the Shuttle and get on the trail. My Cell 678-707-9098 for questions, or leave a comment
