Wine tasting by Wattle Creek Winery

With Tilar Mazzeo. Discover Sonoma's small, mostly family-run wineries that are under the radar of most visitors, yet, loved and frequented by critics, industry professionals, and locals. Run by the same people who grow the grapes and make the wines - often with only local distribution and limited production, and frequently where sustainable, organic viticulture is being pioneered—they offer a friendly, intimate atmosphere and a unique product for the discerning oenophile. Some of the wineries highlighted in this book include:

Preston of Dry Creek Winery and Vineyards • Seghesio Family Vineyards • Hawley Winery • Amista Vineyards • Mauritson Family Winery • Little Vineyards Family Winery • Wattle Creek Winery • Robert Young Estate Winery • Camellia Cellars • Iron Horse Vineyards • Martinelli Vineyards and Winery • Kaz Winery • Petroni Vineyards • Nicholson Ranch Winery • Lynmar Estate • and many more

Tilar Mazzeo is the author of The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled It. Cultural historian, biographer and passionate student of food and wine culture, she is a member of the International Food, Wine, and Travel Writers Association. A professor at Maine’s Colby College, she splits her time between New England and Sonoma County, California.
