Never failing to innovate and in keeping with its past standards of providing some of the choicest of food festivals in the city, Azzurro Kitchen & Bar brings for food aficionados a spanking new menu that will be available in addition to its existing one. Known for its authentic Mediterranean cuisine that has over time made converts of even the most conservative foodies, Azzurro offers a unique experience of the Mediterranean with an understated elegance that lends a warm and comfortable feel and an ambience that enhances the senses and promotes positive vibes.
Chef and owner Shrivant Rajgharia says: “The menu focuses on the myriad flavours of the Mediterranean while keeping certain ingredients – Olive Oil, Garlic & Onion - as central elements that tie the whole region together into what we call the Olive Oil Belt. Furthermore, it borrows on the flavours and essences of the region, rather than on individual recipes, a philosophy that allows for creativity in the kitchen as well as a well-integrated menu.”
Needless to say, the new menu is extremely creative with the right balance for both non-vegetarians and vegetarians. Begin your meal with starters by digging into the delicious Green Harissa Chicken (char-grilled breast of chicken marinated with coriander and cumin harissa); Lamb Souvlaki (char-grilled tender leg of lamb flavoured with honey and cinnamon & served with yoghurt); Goat’s Cheese Tart (tart of goat’s cheese and sun dried tomato with balsamic caramelized pepper and rocket salad) or Seafood Broth (a light tomato based soup of fish and shellfish). The veggies can opt for sweet Italian Potato and Vegetable Skewer (char-grilled baby new potatoes, bell peppers, broccoli and zucchini marinated with honey and lime) or Cream of Mushroom (a soup of assorted wild mushrooms).
For the main course familiarize your tastebuds with Chicken Brochettes (char-grilled pieces of chicken marinated with salt, pepper and garlic; served on a bed of spaghetti tossed with parmesan and sauté vegetables); Herb-crusted Lamb Chops (grilled rack of lamb with a province inspired herb crust of parsley, mustard and bread crumbs) or order a mouthwatering Prawn Thermidore (prawns in a creamy white wine, mustard and thyme sauce and served with white rice).
For dessert, you have a choice between a light and creamy Alphonso Mango Cheesecake with pieces of Alphonso mango or a Dark Chocolate and Almond Tart served with crème anglaise.
Cost for a couple would be Rs. 2000 plus taxes as applicable.
