AYASCHOOL November 3, 2012

I guess it's school but not an institution and there's no building nor campus! Wherever I am there pushing the edge of music that is Ayaschool. My head becomes a laboratory and I experiment to create different and new chemistry. This is my own joy, but I'm happy to know that a lot of people find it exciting.

Ayaschool is :

-always live
-always different
-always not perfect

and it allows lots of mistakes. I do not like half-ass bullshit, that's all.
When you are on the stage with me, we gotta play music, nothing else.

In/out of Blujaz, I do have categories :

1) AYASCHOOL : JUNGLEGYM
experimental and unconventional configuration

2) AYASCHOOL : JUNGLEJAM
jam session designed to jam to make music with all who attends. Heavy listening skill needed, but don't need to be pros. Beginners kids animals all welcome as long as they can make music.

3) AYASCHOOL : BEBOP
Bebop as in Jazz history/genre. Complete focus on instrumental straight ahead Jazz.

4) AYASCHOOL : DESTROY!!!
featuring music that has power to change and destroy yesterday.

The concept of AYASCHOOL was born when I was living in NYC. I tied myself down with music I thought I should be playing...one funny day I got rid of this addictive thought and played some Japanese Pop music from 80's on the bass and had an amazing feeling. It released my up-tightness and made me think ...

"I shouldn't be afraid to play music I love even if it's some nasty shitty music people might turn their back on saying 'oh no...', hey if I love it and enjoy it, that's enough reason. DO IT."
and I do!

A lot to learn everyday. Get on down with me. Ayaschool awaits me to challenge.
