We’re going to try something new at the August MN.swf meeting. We’ll be doing our first every Code Challenge. The idea is that we all work on a common idea or problem for the first hour and then we present our solutions and discuss issues the second hour. He goal is to learn from different approaches we might all have.
For this first code challenge we will be working with the Open-Source AIM AS3 library called WIMAS3:
http://code.google.com/p/wimas3/
This library supports the Web AIM protocol:
http://dev.aol.com/aim/web/serverapi_reference
You’ll need to sign up for AIM Web Developer Key prior to the Code Challenge if you want to participate. I also suggest you read up on the WIMAS3 library or Web AIM API docs.
I tried to pick something interesting and different from what we may work on every day. Plus this library will work with Flash CS3, ActionScript-only, AIR or Flex projects; so nobody is limited by a platform. Should be fun.
