Before heading off to Burning Man, join us for the first What’s the Big Idea? Night of the 2009/10 season to celebrate the success of our first ever PUSH PLAY>YBCA Summer Festival and experience the ART in pARTies!
• Turn up the heat with the world’s greatest Cuban surf rock band, The Cuban Cowboys, the 21st century tribal shimmy of Mezklah, the outrageous acts of Dwayne Calizo and the Voice Factory, and the spellbinding rhythms of Kulintronica.
• Shake off the chill with the KPFA DJ all-stars Aztec Parrot, Wey South, Sep, and Kool Kyle as they spin fury and bliss in Gallery 2.
• Join Burning Man alter master, Shrine, and collaborator, Star, as they build a sacred Bird House in the Sculpture Court.
• View YBCA’s current exhibition Wallworks; an installation by Mama Calizo’s Voice Factory in the Room for Big Ideas
• Enjoy screenings of outrageous short films from 9 pm to midnight in the Screening Room.
• Enjoy cheap drinks at our cash bar and the culinary delights of Farmer Brown and Little Skillet.
