AUDITIONS for Burial at Thebes: Antigone May 20, 2007

The Northfield Arts Guild Theater is holding auditions for the Greek tragedy, Burial at Thebes: A version of Sophocles’ Antigone. This fresh and uncomplicated translation by Seamus Heaney instills a new vigor into the story of the misfortunes of a rebellious woman and her headstrong tyrant uncle, conveying timely and important lessons in a modern age.

Director Shari Setchell is seeking performers for 16 plus roles, ages 16 -100 years old. She also needs one non-speaking middle school aged boy.

Auditions are scheduled for Sunday, May 20 from 3:00 - 6:00 pm and Monday, May 21, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm, at the Northfield Arts Guild Center for the Arts, 304 Division Street. Memorize a short, 30-60 second, monologue and be prepared to read from the script.
