Audiogram Recording Artist Ian Kelly & Toronto's own Courtney Farquhar together for one night! January 19, 2010

January 19th will prove to be a special night at the Cameron House as we play musical matchmaker with two of Canada’s rising stars, Courtney Farquhar and Audiogram recording artist Ian Kelly.

Courtney Farquhar, who recently celebrated the release of her debut album, Nowhere I’d Rather Be, in November 2009, is a mesmerizing and engaging performer. Her sultry and sophisticated vocals tread the lines of both jazz standards and traditional country music. Musically rustic with contemporary undertones combined with Farquhar’s unique and dark-hued voice, Nowhere I’d Rather Be is a solid debut.

Montreal-based Ian Kelly has released two studio recordings to date, independently recorded and released Insecurity (2005) and Speak Your Mind (Audiogram, 2008), both of which have sold an impressive 14,000+ units combined. Wiser Man, the first single from Speak Your Mind, is poetic, introspective and catchy, and illustrates a musical universe where organic and electro meet to form a modern folk sound.

Tuesday, January 19th will not only be the first time these immensely talented musicians perform together on the stage, but it will also mark the first time they ever meet each other. May the musical chemistry fly!!
