Every Friday evening (weather permitting), the public is invited to explore the skies above the Observatory. The Friday night astronomy lecture series begins indoors at 7:30 p.m. with a presentation. Past topics have included asteroids, the Apollo mission and stellar evolution to name a few. The lecture is followed by observing from 8:30-9:30 p.m. with the observatory telescope and other telescopes provided by the Baton Rouge Astronomical Society.
