One Saturday each month the Indiana Astronomical Society (IAS) will hold viewings open to the public at McCloud Nature Park. Telescopes large and small will be on hand and IAS members will provide expert guidance to your family, pointing out stars, nebulas, planets, and many celestial objects you may have only heard of on television. Want to learn more about the night sky before taking up the telescopes? Arrive early and attend an informational session provided by the IAS, designed to inform prospective viewers of what to look for and where in that evening's sky. There's not an event or location in Hendricks County quite like the nighttime viewings at McCloud Nature Park. Bring the family, some snacks, chairs or a blanket; HCP&R and the IAS will provide the telescopes and the expert instruction, a good time will be had by all!
