On National Adoption Day, join Children’s Home Society of Virginia to learn about adoption and foster care. Watch a documentary and hear the stories of real children, teens, and families in the Vermont foster care system. Then join an interactive discussion about foster care and the 1,300 foster children in Virginia waiting for adoptive families. The panel of experts includes: Bess O’Brien, Director & Producer, “Ask Us Who We Are”; Jessica, foster child featured in “Ask Us Who We Are”; Laura Ash-Brackley, CHS Director of Social Services; James Simms, CHS adoptive parent; and local foster care teens waiting for adoption. Plus, visit Carytown’s Sweet Frog or Bonvenu restaurant anytime on November 17 and mention CHS, and CHS will receive a donation. Due to mature themes, the film is recommended for ages 13 and older.
