Asha for Education 5K Run/Walk June 6, 2009

Asha for Education New York/New Jersey chapter is proud to announce its plans to host the sixth annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Riverside Park in New York City.

Asha for Education is an all-volunteer worldwide secular non-profit organization that works to provide basic education to underprivileged children in India. With 66 chapters world-wide, Asha supports over 380 projects across India. The NYC/NJ chapter currently supports 18 projects in various parts of India and organizes several fundraising events in the area such as the 5K event which will directly benefit such projects. As a zero overhead organization, 100% of net proceeds go towards the education related projects for underprivileged children across India.
