Artspace is pleased to present AIJPPE, artspace’s International Juried Printmaking and Photography Exhibition. The exhibit opens on May 25th, 2012 from 6-10pm with a reception that is free and open to the public. Although this marks the third exhibition of AIJPPE, this is the first international installment of the show.
This year’s juror and curator is James Stroud, Master Printmaker and Director of Center Street Studio in Milton, Massachusetts. James Stroud is a painter and printmaker represented by Galerie Mourlot in New York City. Mr. Stroud selected 65 images from 449 submitted images and included 59 artists from submissions by 123 artists. Works in 2d or 3d that incorporate printmaking or any photographic process will be featured. Several prizes will be awarded, including a solo show in the Helena Davis gallery. James Stroud will give a gallery talk and awards presentation from 6-7pm on May 25th during the opening reception. The exhibit will fill all of the five gallery spaces and continues through July 22, 2012.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 12-4pm. The gallery is also open
by appointment. Artspace is partially funded by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, CultureWorks, and the National Endowment for the Arts. Artspace has also received funding from The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia.
