As a part of the Northfield Gallery Crawl, ArtOrg will be showcasing original stone lithographs produced from art created in our Tuesday night drawing studio.
Lithographic stones were given to members of this drawing studio, and the participants drew the figures directly on the printing stone. These stones were then printed into and combined into a "suite" of prints from 13 artists. The set of prints was then bound into a handmade book by Scott King of the Red Dragonfly Press on a iron handpress that may have belonged to the Northfield News. We will be demonstrating these old and fascinating printing techniques during the show.
Contributors of art and printing include Kari Alberg, Tom Casmer, Connie Conway, Mary Grandpre, Virginia Kelly, Scott King, Kari A. Klocke, Pete Krause, Mary Reid Kelley, Lee Salminen, Liz See, Fred Somers, Rick Swearer, Ted Tuel, and more.
This exciting show is only up for three days, and the demonstrations are set for Friday. Be there or be square!
