Artists and Revitalization Panel Discussion

Purpose of Panel:
- Discuss ways in which neighbourhood change can be sensitive to existing and incoming populations
- Learn from challenges and successes of practitioners in the field
- Understand artists’ housing “lifecycle” in a neighbourhood, from affordable living to possible displacement.
- How do we avoid the pattern of ‘gentrification’ or displacement of residents?
What will happen with information?
- Documentation of the panel will be published
- It is hoped this information will be a resource for residents, planners and others engaged in neighbourhood change
- The forum will also be a networking opportunity for panelists and audience members from the public, private and nonprofit sectors
