Rife with references that span the whole of art history, Currin’s paintings showcase classical style and a contemporary sensibility, offering pointed commentary on current social and political issues. Intelligent and sometimes searingly funny, his works have won him international acclaim and numerous exhibitions, including a major solo presentation organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, in 2003. Join the artist for a discussion of his ideas, process, and practices, followed by a book signing in The Schwab Room.
