Tracy Mewmaw is a fine art photographer with no formal training who is completely self taught with regards to photography. He is an accomplished portrait photographer with a keen eye and an uncanny ability to capture raw emotion and candid expression. His sports photography has been published in major magazines.
As a young man, Tracy studied painting and sculpture and went on to study at Kansas City Art Institute. His abstract paintings from that era were at once haunting and perplexing to behold. At that time of his life his focus became music and the making thereof. His passion for visual art lay dormant for many years, until his father in law gave him a 35mm camera for Christmas in 1999. At the age of 36, his passion was rekindled. Within 2 years he was shooting professionally.
For the past five years, he has focused his attention on creating fine art photographs and digital abstract images. His images convey a range of emotion that is at once subtle and vast. Revealing and mysterious. Dark and joyful. To view his works is to look into your own soul…and sometimes into his.
