This is a work-in-progress showing. Sam Kim's new dance work, 'Darling', thrusts highly personal experiences of body panic into a precise, antiseptic framework. With uncompromising honesty, 'Darling' exposes the horror and reverence we feel for the magnitude of the body's potential. The body can leak fluid, explode matter and literally fray its own nerves. In cultural protest, 'Darling' cuts through the ubiquitous celebration of the youthful, highly controlled body, and instead, looks clinically at the mind-body connection gone deranged.
