Lecture Hall, 7:30pm
Didier Faustino works at the frontier between architecture and multimedia art and is deeply interested in the creation of “temporary autonomous zones” as a function of architecture design, and developing projects in this direction. In his work he examines the influence of new media on the projected future of architecture and living. With provocative installations, performances, video, and computer projects, he analyzes in particular the relationship between bodies and space. His architectural and artistic projects are focused on the issue of space as a political, social, and corporeal experience. He’s the co-founder of the Bureau des Mesarchitectures in Paris and his work has been recently featured in the 2006 Sao Paulo Bienal. In March–April 2007 he will be in residence at SFAI for a workshop project as part of SFAI’s gallery program Reaching Out to the City.
