Denise Love McDaid ’62 will present her exhibit, “Sculpture” from Friday, September 7 through Tuesday, October 7 in the Dwight V. Dowley Gallery located on the fifth floor of St. Joseph Hall. There will be an opening reception for the exhibit on Saturday, September 15 from 4-6 p.m. in the gallery. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. through 7 p.m. daily.
McDaid’s work is inspired by natural forms and by her delight in working with clay. Seed pods, vegetables, faces, gestures; there is always an organic reference point but sometimes the end result is an expression of an essential quality or emotion, while other times forms are more recognizable. McDaid investigates the tension between whimsy and formal design elements, movement and meditation.
