Refractions is an acrylic painting exhibit exploring issues of containment and freedom by using color and shape that develop into visual playgrounds.
This new series of work explores issues of freedom and containment. These recent works continue to be characterized by her use of warmth and depth. This body of work mainly conveys her distinctive use of metaphor. Each piece, reflective of a larger world, confides an order developed of of disorder. If one takes an extra moment with many of the works, a visual playground emerges. Issues of containment and freedom are revealed.
Intimate work that can also address the larger issues of our day are rarely created with such warmth and sensitivity. The colors and shapes are her way to represent relationships and situations metaphorically. Both the process and end product of creating this work allows for a simultaneous experience of containment and freedom.
