Art Sanctuary 10th Anniversary Gala: A Shepherd Among Us November 14, 2008

Grammy-nominated composer Hannibal Lokumbe's original musical piece for mass choir and jazz band commemorates the life and work of the Church of the Advocate's legendary activist and priest, Father Paul M. Washington. Special honorees include hip-hop recording artists The Roots, who performed at Art Sanctuary's very first event. Guest performers include include Hannibal's-own New York-based quintet, the Clayton White Singers, Bright Hope Baptist Church's Celestial Choir, and members of The African Episcopal Church of St. Thomas, the Chancel Choir.
