Art of Time Ensemble presents
The Songbook 4
Featuring Gregory Hoskins
accompanied by the Art of Time Ensemble
The acclaimed Art of Time Ensemble proudly presents its final concert of the season: The Songbook 4, featuring the beautifully-voiced Canadian singer-songwriter Gregory Hoskins, on Tuesday May 25 and Wednesday May 26, 2010 at Harbourfront Centre's Enwave Theatre.
The Songbook 4 has Gregory Hoskins performing an eclectic set of 12 of his favourite songs including original material and covers of Paul Simon, Nick Cave, Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Waits, Radiohead, Leonard Cohen, and others in innovative new arrangements by such acclaimed composers as Hilario Duran and Phil Dwyer.
For these special performances, Hoskins will be accompanied by some of the finest classical and jazz musicians in the country, led by Art of Time Artistic Director and pianist Andrew Burashko, who recently won a Juno for his work on Joel Quarrington's album Garden Scene: violinist Benjamin Bowman, saxophonist Phil Dwyer, cellist Amy Laing, guitarist Justin Abedin, and bassist Joe Phillips and pianist Andrew Burashko.
The Art of Time Ensemble provides a unique musical experience that breaks down barriers between artistic and musical disciplines, and reveals the vibrancy of classical music as a contemporary artistic expression, appealing to a range of audiences.
