Art of Fighting celebrate the release of Second Storey, the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2001?s ARIA award winning Wires, hailed by critics as an instant classic. After a twelve-month hiatus it was a 2003 tour of Japan that finally set Second Storey?s wheels in motion, spurring Art of Fighting to write and rehearse half a dozen new songs. The Japanese tour was a resounding success: something shifted, the band found themselves released from the pressures they had found themselves under, and performed these new songs with, according to singer Ollie Browne, a ?fire and abandon previously never known?. The record is an evocation of love come apart, at times melancholy yet always resolute and steadfast, a slow somersault through the underworld of a heart in flux. Second Storey manages to be upbeat and downbeat, loud and soft, always direct and memorable.
