Art of a Community February 6, 2010

Arts Benicia is presenting The Art of a Community exhibition from January 21st through February 28, 2010. The Art of a Community is Arts Benicia’s annual open group show, featuring the work of the organization’s artist members. This marks the 16th year this exhibition has been presented to celebrate the rich artistic community that has been cultivated in Benicia and the Bay Area. Art of a Community includes artists showing for the first time, studio artists in mid-career, and artists who have spent a lifetime honing their technique all in the same gallery space. Despite the vast array of experience the artists posses, all of the featured work is thoughtful, sincere and thought provoking. As Arts Benicia’s membership continues to grow and comes to include even more member artists, so too does Art of a Community. This exhibition continues to flourish, building upon a foundation of long time artist members with the addition of new artists and new work each year.
On February 6th, 2010 at 5:00 Arts Benicia will host the exhibition’s annual reception and party, The Heart of a Community. This event is free and open to the public, and we encourage all those wishing to meet and support the exhibiting artists who are at the heart of Benicia’s art community to attend.
