Art for AIDS Orphans auction

On Tuesday, September 23 at 6:00 p.m. the Art for AIDS Orphans auction will take place at the Drake Hotel, 1150 Queen Street West in Toronto. Photographs and paintings by internationally acclaimed artists will be auctioned in Toronto to support over a million South African children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Annie Liebovitz, Robert Bateman, Nick Brandt, the late Herb Ritts, among many others, have generously offered their talents to this cause.

100% of the net proceeds from the auction will go to the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund (Canada) that supports the disadvantaged children and youth in South Africa. All funds raised will be used for the basics of life that these children desperately need: food, shelter, medicine and education.

The Art for AIDS Orphans auction is a tribute to Nelson Mandela who recently celebrated his 90th birthday. His warmth, courage, and unshakeable commitment to the cause of freedom have inspired millions of all ages and all races around the world. In his lifetime, Nelson Mandela is making the world a better place and is inspiring others to do the same – he has become an extraordinary role model for children everywhere.

The event will include cocktails and viewing, art auction, and live musical performances.
