Discover the surprisingly rich and diverse expressions of Art Deco design and architecture associated with Jersey City's history and development. This guided survey of industrial, residential and commercial properties features exuberant examples of Art Deco--a streamlined diner, houses of worship, WPA artwork, an art-filled loft residence, the conservation work of Rambusch Studios and a special tour of the former medical center that is now the largest active U.S. historic preservation project. This tour is a collaboration between the New Jersey Historical Society and the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy. The tour includes a catered lunch with illustrated lecture by noted historian Ulana Zakalak as well as rare interior access to private properties.
