The San Francisco SPCA is hosting a fundraising event at the Leanne B. Roberts Animal Care Center, a spectacular art auction supporting the SF/SPCA's Animal Assisted Therapy Program.
The Leanne B. Roberts Animal Care Center is the new home of The SF/SPCA's veterinary services. Our experienced veterinarians provide high-quality care to guardians who can afford veterinary services, those that need financial assistance, and free care for homeless animals or pets of homeless people. This translates into approximately $1.5 million in free or discounted veterinary care each year, and the Leanne Roberts Center is dramatically increasing the number of animals we are able to serve - including doubling our spay/neuter capacity.
Working through our Animal Assisted Therapy Program, volunteers share the love of their pets with more than 43,000 ill, disabled, and elderly members of our community each year. We also promote literacy and love of reading by providing highly trained pet therapists to San Francisco Public Libraries and schools through our Puppy Dog Tales reading Program.
The art will be on view and available for silent auction from May 14 through May 16. The live auction will be held at 2:00PM on May 16 during the Donor Open House event for the Leanne Roberts Center. The public is invited.
