Two strong, independent-minded first-year teachers in a Brooklyn public school, one an Orthodox Jew and one a traditional Muslim, learn they have much more in common than just their mutual desire to teach their students a lesson about religious tolerance. Among their similarities, the newfangled friends have both chosen to abide by their religious customs of arranged marriages.
